Privacy Policy
TightNumbers makes Google Sheets templates and two Google Sheets add-ons for trade contractors: TightNumbers Stale Price Flagger and TightNumbers Retainage Tracker. This policy explains what information we handle, what we do with it, and what we never touch. It applies to both add-ons, the tightnumbers.com website, and our Gumroad store.
The short version: your spreadsheet data stays in your spreadsheet. We do not copy it, store it, sell it, or send it anywhere.
What the add-ons can access
Each TightNumbers add-on requests two Google permissions, and only these two:
Access to the current spreadsheet. An add-on can work only in the spreadsheet where you open it. It cannot see your other spreadsheets, your Drive, your email, or anything else in your Google account.
Connect to an external service. Each add-on contacts one outside service: Gumroad, to check whether a license key is valid. Nothing from your spreadsheet is sent in that check. Only the license key itself is sent.
We will never ask for broader permissions than these.
What we collect and why
Spreadsheet contents. The add-ons read your sheet to do their jobs. Stale Price Flagger timestamps price edits and shows their age. Retainage Tracker reads your billing figures to display totals and reports, and does not change your entries. All of this happens inside your spreadsheet. We do not transmit, copy, or store your spreadsheet contents on any server. We have no server that could hold them.
License key and license status. If you buy a paid plan (Flagger Pro or Retainage Pro), you paste a license key into the matching add-on. The add-on sends that key to Gumroad to confirm it is active, then saves the result inside your own Google account's add-on storage for roughly 72 hours so it does not have to check on every open. The key never leaves the Gumroad check.
Email address. If you download a template or buy a product on Gumroad, Gumroad gives us your email address. We use it to send you product updates and support replies. You can unsubscribe from any email with one click.
Support emails. If you write to us, we keep the correspondence so we can help you.
Website visits. tightnumbers.com is a static site hosted on Cloudflare Pages. We run no tracking pixels and no advertising scripts. Cloudflare may process standard technical logs, such as IP addresses, to serve and protect the site.
Google user data and Limited Use
TightNumbers' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
In plain terms:
- We use Google user data only to provide each add-on's visible features to you.
- We do not transfer Google user data to anyone, except as needed to provide those features, to comply with law, or as part of a merger or acquisition with notice to you.
- We do not sell Google user data.
- We do not use Google user data for advertising.
- We do not use Google user data to train AI or machine learning models.
- No human at TightNumbers reads your spreadsheet data unless you send it to us yourself for support and agree to that.
Payments
All payments are processed by Gumroad. We never see or store your card number. Gumroad's handling of your payment details is covered by Gumroad's privacy policy.
Where data lives
We do not operate our own servers or databases. The pieces we rely on:
- Your spreadsheet data: stays in your Google account, under Google's terms.
- License cache: stored in your Google account's add-on storage, under Google's terms.
- Purchase records and emails: held by Gumroad.
- Support email: held in our email account.
How long we keep things
Support correspondence and Gumroad purchase records are kept as long as needed to support you and meet tax and accounting obligations. The license cache in your Google account expires on its own within about 72 hours of the last check and is removed entirely if you uninstall that add-on.
Deleting your data
Uninstalling an add-on from your Google account removes its access and its stored license cache. To have your email removed from our list, unsubscribe or write to us and we will delete it. Payment records held by Gumroad are subject to Gumroad's retention rules.
Security
Data in transit between the add-ons and Gumroad uses HTTPS. Because your spreadsheet data never leaves your Google account, its security at rest is provided by Google's own infrastructure.
Children
TightNumbers is a business tool. It is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
If we change how either add-on uses Google user data, we will update this policy and ask for your consent before using data in a new way. The effective date at the top always reflects the current version.
