Terms of Service
These terms cover the TightNumbers Google Sheets add-ons, the TightNumbers spreadsheet templates, and the tightnumbers.com website. By installing an add-on, downloading a template, or buying a paid plan, you agree to them.
1. What TightNumbers is
TightNumbers provides spreadsheet templates and two Google Sheets add-ons that help trade contractors track price freshness and retainage: TightNumbers Stale Price Flagger and TightNumbers Retainage Tracker. Each add-on has a free tier and a paid tier (Flagger Pro for the price flagger, Retainage Pro for the retainage tracker) unlocked with a license key purchased on Gumroad.
2. Verify your own numbers
This is the most important section, so it comes first.
The TightNumbers add-ons and templates are bookkeeping aids, not an estimator, accountant, or contract administrator. They flag dates, add up figures you entered, and display results based on your data and your settings.
You are responsible for every number in every bid, invoice, pay application, and contract you send. Check the math before you rely on it. If a template formula, an add-on calculation, or a flag is wrong, missing, or misread, the responsibility for the documents you issue remains yours.
Do not treat any output of TightNumbers as legal, accounting, or tax advice. Retainage rules vary by jurisdiction and by contract. Confirm your obligations with your own contract documents and your own professionals.
3. Your license
Templates. When you download a TightNumbers template, you get a personal, non-exclusive license to use and modify it for your own business. You may not resell or redistribute the template itself, with or without changes.
Add-ons, free tier. Free features of both add-ons are provided as-is for your business use.
Paid plans. Flagger Pro and Retainage Pro are separate purchases, one per add-on. A license key covers one seat, meaning one Google account, for the product it was issued for. Monthly plans renew monthly, annual plans renew yearly, until cancelled. You may not share, resell, or publish your license key. We may deactivate keys that are shared or obtained fraudulently.
4. Billing, cancellation, refunds
All billing runs through Gumroad. Prices are shown at checkout. You can cancel a subscription any time from your Gumroad account, and paid features remain active until the end of the period you already paid for. Refund requests go to support@tightnumbers.com and are handled case by case through Gumroad.
If a subscription lapses or a refund is issued, paid features lock again. Your spreadsheets and data are untouched, because they were always yours and always in your Google account.
5. Your data
The add-ons work inside your own Google Sheets. We do not host, copy, or take ownership of your spreadsheet data. How we handle information is described in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use TightNumbers to break the law, infringe others' rights, probe or disrupt the service, or attempt to bypass the license check. We may suspend or terminate access for abuse.
7. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the add-ons working and useful, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability. They depend on Google's platform and Gumroad's services, which we do not control. We may add, change, or retire features. If we retire a paid feature you actively use, we will tell you before your next renewal.
8. No warranty
TightNumbers is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of results, or non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
9. Limit of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TightNumbers and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost contracts, missed bids, unpaid retainage, or errors in documents you issue. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or USD $50 if you paid nothing.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
10. Termination
You can stop using TightNumbers any time by uninstalling the add-ons and cancelling any subscription. We may terminate or suspend access for breach of these terms. Sections 2, 8, 9, and 11 survive termination.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Harris County, Texas.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The effective date above always shows the current version. Material changes will be announced by email or in the add-ons before they take effect. Continued use after that means you accept the updated terms.
